Ethan Hawke, who is best known for films like “Reality Bites” and “Before Sunrise”, is taking on a new role in the movie “Brooklyn’s Finest”. Ethan stars as a narcotics cop Sal in the movie. His character is under a lot of pressure as he tries his best to provide for his family. The stress from the home front and the temptations from all the drug money he has access to puts him in a very fickle state of mind. Sal keeps moving from good cop to bad cop as he tries to resist the temptations but falls short once in a while. In an interesting scene where Sal is playing casino poker with his fellow officers he argues that taking drug money from gangsters is justifiable.
The story revolves around three New York cops, Sal played by Ethan Hawke; Eddie played by Richard Gere and undercover cop Tango played by Don Cheadle.
All three cops have their own stories and experiences from being on the force. Eddie the patrolman is just a week away form retirement and has seen in all in his time is on the force. While Tango, who is undercover trying to catch the drug Kingpin Caz played by Wesley Snipes, ends up protecting the very man he is trying to hunt down.
